1. Why Line A Sells Out First (And How the 12-Stage Trans-Mountain Escalator Works)
Line A is the gold standard for two reasons: first, taking the 28-minute, 7,455-meter cable car UP from the city center as the limestone wall rises vertically in front of your cabin is far more dramatic than riding it down in the dark; second, Line A brings you to the West/East Summit Skywalks first, then takes the 7-stage upper tunnel escalator (included in your ¥278 ticket) down to the top of Tianmen Cave.
From the arch, you can either walk down the 999 steps (or pay ¥32 for the lower 5-stage escalator if your knees are tired) to the square, then ride the fast Express Cableway out to the gate.
